Hudson, Doris Marguerite - 78,
High Crest Nursing Home, Sherbrooke, formerly of Aspen and Country Harbour Mines, died January 24, 1999, in St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke. Born in Goldenville, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Augustus James and Alberta Agnes (Nickerson) Sponagle She was a domestic worker, housewife and mother. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Country Harbour, as well as a member of the Goldenville Heritage Society. Surviving are a son, Wilfred (Barbara), Goshen; brothers, Morton, Liverpool; Harold, Halifax; Robert, Moncton; sisters, Mabel (Mrs. John Walker), Truro; Ina Sponagle, Montreal; Irene MacDonald, Olive Christianson, both of Halifax; grandchildren, Matthew and Rob; several neices and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Elsworth MacKeen; her second husband, Charles Hudson; sons, Roy Hudson and two in infancy; brother, Edwin Lester; half-brother, Byron; sister, Alberta. Visitation will be today from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m., funeral service will be wednesday at 2 p.m., both in G.W. Giffen Funeral Home, Country Harbour, Rev. Katherine Greenfield officiating. Burial in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Country Harbour. Family flowers only by request. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
