Langley, Barney Lawrence -93,
Seal harbour, Guysborough Co., died September 15, 1997, in St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke. Born at Seal Harbour, he was a son of the late William James and Louise Jane (Fanning) Langley. He was a retired commercial fisherman, having spent 55 years in the industry. He was also a fox rancher for 12 years and in his younger years was employed as a miner at Hollinger Mines in Timmins Ontario. He was a member of the Seal Harbour United Baptist Church and served on the board of directors of Seal Harbour Credit Union. Surviving are his wife, the former Beryl Madeline Fanning; daughters, Judith (Mrs. Carmen Jollotta), Sonora; Guys. Co.; Katherine (Mrs. Edmund Keddy), Chester; sister, Minnie Burke, Drum Head; four grandchildren; three great - grandchildren; a step-grandson; several neices and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Lueman; sisters, Maude O’Hara, Elizabeth Scanlon; half-brothers, Walter, Edward, Ashley, and Cecil Langley; half-sister, Lottie Burke. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, both in Seal Harbour United Baptist Church, Lic. Donald Dunn officiating. Burial in Seaside Cemetery, Seal Harbour. Donations to Seal Harbour United Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to G.W. Giffen Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
