MacKeen, M. Evelyne - 74,
Aspen, died Friday April 16, 1999, in St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Caledonia, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late John Knox and Margaret Katherine (MacIntosh) Chisholm. She lived in Aspen most of her life with the exception of 10 years in Ontario. she attended Normal college, Truro and taught for six years. She drove West River Mail Route for 22 years. After returning from Grande Cache Alberta she worked as a guide at the Historic Sherbrooke Village for 13 years. She was an avid gardener, knitter and tireless volunteer. She was a friend to all she met. She was a member of the Kirk Memorial United Church, Glenelg, where she was a former member of the board of stewards and a charter member of the UCW. She was also a member of the Greenfield Seniors Club, Aspen Community Club, Branch 59 of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, Sherbrooke, and the St. Mary’s Homemakers Association. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Scott ; daughters, Heather (Gary), Yellowknife; Melodie (Gerry), Ottawa; ,Natalie (Robert), Halifax; Darlene (Kevin), Truro; sons, Clive (Margo), Aspen; Dale (Lenore), Lochaber. She is also survived by grandchildren, Krista (Milind), Chad (Jean), Daryl (Kendra), Travis,Tara, Janice, Brendan, Tania, Trent, Tyson, Tyler, Gavin, Jaret, Kylee, Travis, Crystal, Haley, Derek and Logan; great - grandson, Dylan,Chaitan and sister, Mrs. Ruby Cruickshank, Sherbrooke. She was predeceased by brothers, Lester, and Clifford, son Mark and granddaughter, Teagan. Her remains will rest in the Kirk Memorial United Church in Glenelg, where visitation was held Sunday, and from where funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m., Rev. Fred Archibald officiating, assisted by Donald Cameron. Burial in Aspen Baptist Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, Stillwater.
