Fancy, Jemima Laura (Mima) - 70,
Ecum Secum, Guys. Co., died May 19, 1994, in Camp Hill Medical Centre, Halifax. Born in Ecum Secum, she was a daughter of the late John and Elsie (Wylde) Fancy. She was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas as a leading Wren with the R.C.N.V.R. She was a school teacher for many years and taught in various communities in Guysborough County. She was a principal of Marie Joseph Consolidated School until her retirement due to ill health. She was a lifetime member of the St. Barnabus Church, Ecum Secum; member of the Wren’s Association; life member of Liscomb Legion, Branch 86 and member of the Eastern Shore Sunshine Club, Ecum Secum. She is survived by her friend, Sadie Archibald, with whom she resided for many years; three sisters, Bernice Cook, Sherbrooke; Peggy (Mrs. Willis Hape), Marie Joseph; Doreen, Halifax, an aunt; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Eva; brother, George. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Ecum Secum Funeral Home, where a Legion service and funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Gavin Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in St. Barnabus Cemetery, Ecum Secum. Family flowers only.
