Highcrest Nursing Home, Sherbrooke,
formerly of Jordanville, Guysborough Co., died March 28, 1998, in the home. Born in Little Liscomb, she was a daughter of the late Henry A. and Isabella (Mailman) Rudolph. For the past 20 years she was a resident of Maple Manor Senior’s Complex, Sherbrooke. She was a charter member of the Women’s Institute of Nova Scotia and a postmistress with Canada Post for a number of years. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by sons, Leonard and wife Joan; Ernest and wife Leta, all of Jordanville; Raymond and wife Barbara, Indian Harbour Lake; Harold and wife Audrey, Sonora; daughter, Gladys and husband Edward Hughes, Truro. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; a step-great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Freeman; son, Alvin; a daughter in infancy; grandson, Robert in infancy; brothers, Ernest and Robert Rudolph; sisters, Pearl MacDonald, Katherine Hemlow; a brother and sister in infancy. The body is resting at Ecum Secum Funeral Home, Sherbrooke. Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. in St. James Presbyterian Church, Sherbrooke, Trudy Meyer officiating. Burial to follow in Sunset Rest Cemetery, Indian Harbour Lake. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
