Sangster, Leslie Thornton - 92,
Isaacs Harbour, Guysborough Co.,
died peacefully at his home Monday, May 10, 1998.
Born in New Harbour, he was a son of the late Capt. Clifford and Nettie (Dort) Sangster.
In his younger years he sailed on vessels,
worked in Seal Harbour Gold Mines and was a truck driver
for Zincks Transport and Arthur Giffen’s Grocery Store.
He was a member of New Harbour United Church of Canada.
He was an avid storyteller, especially of the sailing ships on which he sailed.
Surviving are sister, Emily Hattie, Lower Sackville;
niece, Erma Vanderzwaag, Oshawa Ontario; nephew, Gregor Hattie, Lower Sackville.
He was predeceased by brother, Elmer Sangster; sisters, Naome and Hilda Sangster.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.,
both in Isaac’s Harbour United Baptist Church,
Rev. Chuck Mosley officiating. Burial in Isaac’s Harbour Cemetery.
Family flowers only.
Memorial donations may be made to Isaac’s Harbour United Baptist Church.
Arrangements entrusted to G.W. Giffen Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
