James F Haynes Sr.,Canso July 11 -
the death of James Frederick Haynes
occurred at his home here on June 27,
following years of failing health, of which the past three years
he was practically an invalid. Born at Yankee Harbour, Guysborough County,
he was 44 years of age, a faithful adherent and member
of the United Church and member of the Oddfellows Order President Co-op Store,
1948 to 1956; and member of the Canso Fire Brigade
until illness prevented him from attending.
He was a son of the late Frederick Haynes
and the former Elizabeth Munroe, and leaves to mourn their loss
besides his widow, the former Ella Morehouse of Gloucester Mass,
four sons, James Jr, Dewey, Frederick and Thornton,
four daughters, Nancy (Mrs Douglas Joyce), Phyllis, Joyce, and Betty,
also his mother Mrs Albert Dort of Halifax ,
one brother Burton, Halifax, three sisters Margaret (Mrs Fernand Bossieu), Shad Bay, NS;
Ada (Mrs Charles Dort), Shad Bay; and Dorance, (Mrs B Frosst), Halifax,
also two grandchildren. The funeral was held from St Paul's United Church,
conducted by the Rev M Favier of Guysborough, and Student Minister, Mr Murray.
Hymns sung were Safe In The Arms of Jesus,
Some Day We'll Understand, and The Old Rugged Cross.
