The many friends of Mr. F.G. Manson
were shocked to hear of his death
which took place at his hone in Sherbrooke, NS
on Monday November 22nd.
Mr. Manson had been in poor health for several months,
but was only confined to his bed
for a few days previous to his death.

He was a man of stirling character and was highly respected by all.
He was born at Lochaber, Antigonish Co. on October 29th,1860
and the family moved to Sherbrooke in 1868
where he has since resided.
He is survived by his wife who is the daughter of Matthew McGrath of Sherbrooke,
also four children, Mrs. C.T. Ritchie, Dartmouth; Mrs. A.K. Manson,
teacher of Hawthorn school, Dartmouth;
F.E. Manson, manager of the Royal Bank branch Eldon, PEI;
and M.McG. Manson, who served overseas with the 85th Batt.,
where he was severely wounded. Also surviving
him are two sisters Mrs. Alfred McKeen, Aspen and Mrs. J.G. McDonald, Middleton
and two brothers Mr. Alex Manson, Lochaber and Mr. George Manson, Country Harbour.

The many friends of the deceased extend to his wife
and family every sympathy in their bereavement.

Sherbrooke, May 4
Funeral service for the late Mrs. Francis Manson
who died suddenly at her home on Thursday April 28,
was held here on Sunday afternoon at @:30 o’clock.
Mrs. Manson, who was a life-long member of St. James Presbyterian Church
was active in the various church organizations for many years
and also in the local organizations of Sherbrooke.

Services were conducted by the Inter-moderator of the Pictou Presbyterian Church,
the Reverend Ralph MacDonald, Thorburn,
assisted by Reverend Gordon Bannerman, New Glasgow.
Hymns sung included "The Lord’s My Shepherd" and "Father I Know That All My Life"
and a duet "Be Thou Near" sung by Mrs. G.M. Cruickshank and Miss Mildred MacMillian.
Choirs of St. John’s United and St. James Presbyterian churches
united in a tribute of music.

Citizens of Sherbrooke and the area surrounding,
and from other parts of the province
joined in paying tribute to a member
of one of the province’s oldest families.

Numerous beautiful floral tributes were received
and many messages of condolences.

Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery
beside the lovely St. Mary’s.

Mrs. Manson is survived by two sons,
and two daughters, Mac of Sherbrooke;
Ernest of Halifax; Ellen of Dartmouth
and Katherine of Ottawa, all of whom were present
at the services; surviving also are twelve grandchildren
and twelve great-grandchildren. Two of whom are in Bonn, Germany,
children of Mr. And Mrs. Ian Macdonald; three in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Children of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Bingeman; three in Amherst, NS
children of Mr. and Mrs. John Ritchie; and two in Kamsack, Sask.
Children of Mr. and Mrs. Don Walker; two in Kingston, Ont. children of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Linton.

Pall bearers were Verner Neily, Robert Anderson, Edwin Fraser,
Mack Cruickshank, Russell Cameron and Huntley MacLean
