Harold F. Jones

Sherbrooke - Harold Frederick Jones, 83,
of Sherbrooke, Guysborough County, died September 20, at home.

Born in Halifax, he was the son of
the late Frederick and Jennie (Carter) Jones.

He was employed with Eatons, the Bank of Commerce and then
joined the Halifax Rifles and became sergeant major in Aldershot.

He served for 25 years as town clerk for Canning
and later became comptroller of Sherbrooke Village restoration project.

He is survived by his wife, the former Flo Manson,
a daughter Sylvia Simons, Dartmouth;
a sister Blanche MacLennan, Halifax; three grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Goodwin,
Mrs. Roslyn Hill, Mrs. Muriel MacRae, Mrs. Marjorie Porter.

Funeral was September 22, in Veinotte's Funeral Home,
Sherbrooke, Rev. Eldie Richard, Rev. Keith Lewis and
Rev. Jane Johnson officiating, with burial in Riverside cemetery.
