John F Ehler, Peasbrook, July 8 -
John F Ehler of Peasbrook died Wednesday
in Aberdeen Hospital New Glasgow.
Mr Ehler was born in 1864, the son of the
late Mr and Mrs William A Ehler
of Peasbrook where he lived all his life.
His occupation was both farming and fishing
and he never retired until the
time he entered hospital.
He was predeceased three years ago by his wife,
the former Catherine Kennedy of South River Lake.
Mr Ehler is survived by
one son, C Wilfred Ehler,
also Peasbrook, and four daughters, Bessie (Mrs W
J Munroe) of Cole Harbour;
Annie (Mrs Harry Duncan ) of Trenton; Mabel (Mrs
Arthur Mason) of St Margaret's Bay;
and Winnifred (Mrs Howard Scott, of
Halifax).
Four sisters and brothers predeceased him.
He also leaves 17
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A short service was held at
his home,
thence to St James Church for burial
where he had been a church
warden for 30 years.
Hymns sung were "The Lords My Shepherd " at the house
and "O for a closer Walk with God" and "Hiding in Thee" at the church.
Rev
D H Sherren officiated
and the organist was Mrs William Campbell of Boylston.
