CANNING, Ira Francis (Frank) - 82,
Port Williams, Kings County, died October 11, 1993,
in Eastern Kings Memorial Hospital, Wolfville.
Born in River Philip, Cumberland County,
he was a son of the late William and Olivia Maria (Rodgers) Canning.
He graduated from high school in Springhill
and taught school for several years as an industrial arts teacher.
He then enlisted with the RCAF during the Second World War
and following the war entered the ministry,
serving in the Presbyterian Church at Springhill, Oxford,
Riverview and Sherbrooke, retiring in 1976.

He is survived by his stepson, Harold (Andy) Anderson, Vancouver, B.C.;
two stepdaughters, Anna (Mrs. George Pickford), Grand Pre;
Kay Anderson, Kentville; nine stepgrandchildren;
four step-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife,
the former Claire (Ted) Edwards [tombstone says Mathis];
second wife, the former Eleanor [MacIntosh] Anderson;
stepdaughter, Betty; four brothers,
Clarence, Gordon, Ross, Delbert;
three sisters, Mary, Ruby, Jessie.

Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today
in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Wolfville,
where funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Hedley Hopkins officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Sherbrooke.
Donations may be made to any charity.
