Lloyd William Bond, Canso -

Lloyd William Bond, 27, lost his life in a sad drowning accident
at Port Hawkesbury wharf on the night of May 12, 1980.
The deceased was the son of John and Edna (Feltmate)
Bond of Canso. This is the first break
in a family of eleven . He is survived by,
besides his parents, 5 brothers Stanley, Roland, Johnny,
Ralph and Arnold, and 5 sisters Dorothy Avery,
Stella Rideout, Marian Dort, Catherine Burke, Halifax County
and Myrna Bouchie, Dover. The remains
rested at the home of his sister and brother-in-law,
Capt and Mrs Rideout until Friday morning, when the funeral was held
from Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Fr Angus Morris officiating.
The number of flowers, cards of sympathy and mass cards,
also donations testify to the esteem in which the young man was held,
as well, the numbers who filled the church at his funeral.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
