Catherine Jean MacIntosh

SMITHFIELD -- Catherine Jean MacIntosh, 74,
of this Guysborough County community, died Saturday in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.

Born in Smithfield, she was a daughter of the late George Brown and Mary Jane (MacDonald) MacIntosh.

She was a resident of Smithfield all her life and a member of the Glenelg Presbyterian Church, and Sunlight Rebekah Lodge, East River St. Mary's.
She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Smithfield, Glenelg, Melrose.
She graduated from the Provincial Normal College, Truro in 1940.
She was a life member of Women's Auxiliary and Women's Institute if Nova Scotia.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lou (Mrs. Howard Kaiser), Bickerton West;
Judith Rose (Mrs. Leonard Silver), Ottawa;
Patricia Margaret (Mrs. Gordon Burns), Antigonish;
a son Sidney (Sid), Linacy;
seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Sidney F. (Sid);
two brothers, William and George.

The remains are resting at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, Stillwater, Guysborough County.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Glenelg Presbyterian Church.
