Frederick Porter Sangster

New Harbor, Guysboro Co., July 21--
There passed away at his home here on Wednesday, July 18th,
Frederick Porter Sangster, so of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew T. Sangster.

The deceased was born here 70 years ago.
He was highly esteemed and well liked by all,
and his many friends were grieved to learn of his sudden passing.

He was a staunch member of the Baptist Church,
loyal to its support and zealous in its welfare.

He was twice married, his first wife
(Margaret Francis) having predeceased him seven years ago.
Four years later he married Leotia Haines, of Halifax,
who tenderly cared for him in his last illness.

The deceased is survived by his wife,
four sons, Whitfield and Allison, both of New Glasgow;
Lester, of this place, and Morton, Providence, R.I;
also six daughters, Bessie (Mrs. Loren Sangster) and Greta (Mrs. Clarence Gillie)
both of this place; and Lila (Mrs. Charlie Slater) and Nellie
(Mrs. Roland Slater) both of Roachvale; Edna
(Mrs. Sandy Crooks) of Coddle's Harbor, and Mary (Mrs. A.E. Darby,
of Conn., U.S.A.; also one sister, Mrs. Archibald Barrs.

The funeral was held on Friday afternoon
from his late residence, and was conducted by his pastor, Rev. S. Trites.

He was laid to rest beside his first wife
beneath a wealth of floral offerings which testified
to the esteem in which the deceased was held.
