W.H. Mitchell of Aspen Dies in Hospital

ASPEN -- William Henry Mithcell,
a life long and respected citizen of this place,
passed away Monday evening at St. Martha's Hospital,
where he had been a patient for several weeks.

He was born here in July 1876.
He followed lumbering, milling and farming all his adult life.

He always took an active interest in all the community's activities.
He represented Glenelg Polling District No. 10 in the Municipal Council from 1925 to 1931.
He was a lover of music and a beautiful singer.
In his younger days he sang in the Presbyterian Choir.

His wife, and son Blake predeceased him in 1952.

He is survived by one daughter Stella (Mrs. Lloyd Allen), and several grandchildren.

The funeral service was held from the Kirk Memorial Church
conducted by Rev. John Hicks, and assisted by Mr. MacDonald on Wednesday afternoon.

Hymns were "The Lord's My Shepherd", "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", and at the gave "By Cool Siloam."

He was a member of Radium Lodge, IOOF and members of that lodge acted as pall bearers. The Oddfellows conducted their service at the grave.
