MRS. SARAH ALICE ANDERSON

Sherbrooke, August 27 –
the death occurred at St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke,
after a lengthy illness on Sunday August 10, at 4 p.m.
of Mrs. Sarah Anderson, age 83, wife of the late J. T. Anderson
of Boylston. Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. William G. Simpson.

She was a devout member of the Boylston Baptist Church,
former Church Clerk and Sunday School Superintendent,
and a life member of the Women’s Missionary Society.
During the past five years she has resided with
her daughter Mrs. M.M. Manson, in Sherbrooke who survives;
also a step-daughter Mrs.W.A.Bruce,
of San Louis Obispo, California; three grandchildren,
Natalie, Francis and Winnifred Manson of Sherbrooke;
two sisters, Miss Florence Simpson, R.N. of Boylston;
Mrs. Gertrude Peart of Lowell, Mass.,
brother Gordon Simpson of Boylston;
Kenneth Mitchell, a nephew, of Halifax.

Funeral service was conducted at the Manson home, Sherbrooke,
at 11 a.m. on August 11, by Rev. William Reid,
New Glasgow. Hymn, "When My Life Work is Ended,"
by joint choirs was sung. The funeral procession
then proceeded to Boylston Baptist Church when on Tuesday, August 12,
the funeral service was held, conducted by Rev. William Reid
of Kirk's Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, assisted by
Rev. Carl Bainbridge of the Baptist Church New Brunswick.

Favorite Hymns of Mrs. Anderson’s sung were,
"Lead Kindly Light", "Home of the Soul"
and Mrs. Billy Campbell rendered beautifully, "Lights of Home".

The floral tributes were many and the church was filled
to capacity with those who came to pay final tribute
to a highly respected citizen.

Burial was in the Boylston Baptist Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Oscar Grady, John Hayden, Manson Atwater,
Billy Campbell, Horatio Morrow and Charles Brymer.
