J. G. Anderson
Boylston, Nov. 19 -
Citizens of this and surrounding communities learned with deep regret
of the sudden death of one of Boylston's beloved
and well known citizens in the person of John G. Anderson
of the firm of J.G. Anderson Limited, who passed away
en route to hospital, where he was being taken by
his attending physician, Dr. Hazen, of Guysboro.
Mr. Anderson was the son of the late J.T. and Sarah Anderson
who on the death of his father three years ago,
took over and carried on successfully the general merchandise business.
John as he lovingly and familiarly known to everyone,
lived here all his life an as a citizen
was interested in all activities for the good of the community.
He was a member of the Baptist Congregation
and gave liberally to the support of that church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Hackett,
Newport Rhode Island, and three sisters,
Mrs. Sanford Dixon, Merritt, Sask.; Mrs. Gertrude Bruce,
Boylston who was closely associated with her brother in the business,
and Mrs. Mack Manson, Sherbrooke. Mrs. Edward Swailes,
Sydney, an niece, also survives.
The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church
this afternoon and were conducted by the pastor
Rev. James Hunt, who was assisted by Mr. J. H. Bryan, of the United Church.
