LUMSDEN, Ronald Frederick - 78,
109 Union St., Canso, died June 1, 1993,
in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Canso, he was a son of the late
Ernest and Eunice (Snow) Lumsden. He was an inshore fisherman
for some years and later an agent for Imperial Oil Limited for 27 years,
retiring in 1980. He was a member of Star of the Sea Parish,
Canso; former town councillor and an avid sports fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, the former Maude Bush; two daughters,
Olga (Mrs. Frank Berrigan), Sydney River; Carolyn (Mrs. Carl Humble),
Dartmouth; three sons, David, New Glasgow; Douglas, Barry,
both of Canso; sister, Beatrice Powell, California; two brothers,
Russel, Elliott, both of Canso; 20 grandchildren; a great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by a son, Jerome; brother, Kenneth.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-8 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in Star of the Sea Church,
Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso.
