GEORGE , (MacKenzie) Cecil F. - 77,
Canso, died February 18, 1996, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso.
Born in Half Island Cove, he was a son of the late
Muriel (George) MacKenzie and stepson of the late Havelock MacKenzie.
He was a veteran of the Second World War; life member and past president
of Royal Canadian Legion, branch 46, Canso.
He was a retired fisherman and member of Star of the Sea Parish.
Surviving are his wife, the former Jennie Snow;
daughters, Muriel (Mrs. Allan Penny), Frances (Mrs. Tim Bouchie),
Canso; sons, Courtney, Port Hawkesbury; Cecil, Middle Sackville;
Eric, Cochrane, Alta; Kenneth, Weston, Ont;
sisters, Alma Pelletier, Blaisedale, N.Y.; Helen (Mrs. Wayne Hayes),
Marion Bell, Calgary; brothers, Mort MacKenzie, Niagara Falls, N.Y.;
Todd MacKenzie, Canso; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by son, Victor. Visitation 2-9 p.m.
today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral 11 a.m.
Wednesday in Star of the Sea Church, Rev. Paul MacNeil officiating.
Burial in parish cemetery. Donations to Eastern Memorial Hospital.
