Courtney Duncan "Todd" MacKenzie
MacKENZIE, Courtney Duncan "Todd" - 75, Canso,
died April 17, 1999, at home.
Born in Canso, he was a son of the
late Havelock and Muriel (George) MacKenzie.
He was a veteran of the Second World War,
serving with Pictou Highlanders in France, Germany and Italy.
Following the war, he lived in Niagara Falls, N.Y.,
where he operated MacKenzie's Grande Inn, returning to Canso in 1984.
He was past president of Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch 46, Canso. Surviving are son,
Lawrence and wife Margie, Niagara Falls, N.Y.;
sisters, Alma (Mrs. Charles Pelletier), North Carolina;
Helen (Mrs. Wayne Hayes), Marion Bell, both of Calgary,
Alta; brother, Morton, Niagara Falls, N.Y.;
grandaughters, Kelly Lynn, Ryann Courtney, Katherine; grandson, Sean;
nephew, Eddy Kelly, Canso; and also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Julia Kelly;
brothers, Cecil and Havelock; sister, Mildred.
Visitation will be held this evening from 7-9 p.m.,
Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday
in Star of the Sea Church, Rev. Charles Pottie officiating.
Burial in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations to Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 46, Canso.
