Harold Simeon Whidden

WHIDDEN, Harold Simeon - 83,
368 Dalcrombie Dr., New Glasgow, died Friday, December 11, 1998,
in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Simeon and Vera (MacLane) Whidden.
He was a resident of Stillwater and Sherbrooke, Guysborough Co., for most of his life.
He had also resided in Middleton, Calgary and Labrador City, prior to retiring in New Glasgow.
He was an auto mechanic by trade and was in charge of busses and maintenance at St. Mary's Rural High School, Sherbrooke,
and a former employee of Edwin and Scott Fraser, Sherbrooke.
He was a member of Trinity United Church, New Glasgow;
the Royal Canadian Legion, Sherbrooke;
St. Mary's Male Choir, and a charter member of Sherbrooke Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mildred McCabe;
daughters, Glenda (Mrs. Leo Lamey), Westville;
Susan (Mrs. Lennie Jordan), Pine Tree;
sons, James (Jim) (Anne), Kingston, Ont.;
John (Mary), Halifax;
grandchildren, Sonya, Jeff, Jessica, Mary
and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brother, Scott.

His remains will rest at H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow,
with visitation today from 2-4, 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday from Trinity United Church, New Glasgow,
Rev. Norman Marple and Rev. Shawn Redden officiating.
Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Sherbrooke.
Family flowers only please.
Donations in memory may be made to the Whidden Scholarship Fund, St. Mary's Rural High School, Sherbrooke, or to a charity of choice.
