Percy Sterling George - 70,
Upper White Head, Guysborough County, died September 9, 1993,
in Halifax Infirmary. Born in Upper Whitehead,
he was the son of the late Abraham and Margaret Ann (Grover) George.
He was a retired fisherman and a former relief lighthouse keeper at Whitehead
and Queensport. He was a veteran of the Second World War
and member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 117, Charlos Cove.
He is survived by his wife, the former Florence O'Leary;
four daughters, Vonda Rhynold, Peas Brook;
Susan (Mrs.Kevin McKeough), Fox Island;
Linda Hoglund, Dartmouth; Cathy,
at home; two sons, Eugene O'Leary, Harvey,
both of Upper Whitehead; four sisters Mrs. Minnie MacMillan,
Trenton; Mrs. Thelma Pembrook, Halifax; Genette,
Toronto; Adeline Mrs.Elmer DesRoches)Truro; half brother,
Seymour Meads, Queensport; four brothers Paul, Queensport,Ira, Abe,
both of Upper Whitehead; Phil,
Guysborough; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy in infancy;
sister, Juanita; three brothers, Allan, Edward, Harvey.
Funeral will be held in St. Vincent de Paul Church in Queensport,
Rev.Paul MacNeil officiating.
