Mrs Isabel MacIsaac

At Giant's Lake, Guys. Co.
the death occurred Saturday, Oct. 23, 1941,
of Mrs. Isabel MacIsaac, aged 74 years.
Although the deceased had been in failing health for sometime,
death came unexpectedly. Her husband, John C. MacIsaac,
preceased her in March, 1937. A devout Catholic,
her sincere Christian character was manifested in her quiet kindly manner
and the general hospitality of her home.
She leaves to mourn her one son,
Capt. Rev. James MacIsaac, now serving overseas
as champlain in the Canadian Forces,
and four daughters: Sister Mary of the Trinity and Sister Felicitas
of the Sisters of St. Martha; Mrs John F. MacNeil, and Sarah at home.
The funeral services took place Monday, Oct. 27, at St. Francis DeSales Church,
Giant's Lake, where requiem high Mass was celebrated by her pastor,
Rev. John MacLaughlin, with Rev. Mons. H.P. MacPherson,
V.G., present in the sanctuary. The large attendance included
a number of reglious as well as the following priests:
Rev. Dr. P. Nicholson, Rev, Dr. Daniel MacCormick, Rev.L.B. Sear,
and Rev. G.L. Kane, St. F. X. University; Rev. A.J. MacPherson,
St. Andrew's; Rev. J.B. Kyte, Canso; Rev. A.J. MacIsaac, Inverness;
Rev. P.A. MacLellan, Broad Cove; Rev. W. M. Roberts, Tracadie;
Rev. A. I. MacAdam, Lakevale, Rev. Francis MacIsaac, Sydney.
The Mass was sung by a choir composed of priests under the direction of Rev.
Dr. Nicholson, and Mrs Michael Cleay, Lochaber, organist.
Following the mass, the remains were conveyed to Giant's Lake cemetery,
where Monsignor H.P. MacPherson officiated at the graveside,
assisted by the above mentioned priests.
