Mrs. Henrietta Horton
Canso - The death occured on Sunday morning
of Henrietta Elizabeth Horton, widow of
Hiram Charles Horton, at her home in Canso,
after a brief illness. She was born
Henrietta Elizabeth Worth at Salmon River, Guysborough Co.,
in 1869. She married Hiram C. Horton of Canso,
where she resided until her death. She is survived
by four sons, George, of Vancouver, B.C.; John, of Canso;
Emdon, Halifax; Lloyd, Toronto; and five daughters,
Cora, (Mrs. S.R. Clingan), Boston, Mass.; Blanche,
(Mrs. D.T. Townsend), Louisburg; Greta, (Mrs. W.S. Liswell), Rockville, Conn.;
Jean, (Mrs. M.T. Pelletier), Halifax, and Marion, (Mrs. A.N. Miller), Sydney.
A son, Arthur, a veteran of World War I, and a daughter, Edna,
(Mrs. W.D. Barss), predeceased her.
Also surviving are 30 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Horton was the oldest member of the Canso United Baptist Church,
from which funeral services were held for her on Tuesday afternoon.
