Oscar C. Williams
Guysborough - Oscar Cookson Williams, 64,
of Guysborough, died Tuesday in
the Victoria General Hospital.
Born in Half Way Cove, Guysborough Co.,
he was a son of the late George and
Gertrude (Dickie) Williams.
He was a retired sheet metal worker,
a veteran of the Second World War,
serving overseas with the Royal Canadian Artillery,
and the Royal Canadian
Engineers.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 81,
Guysborough, and a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Shea;
three daughters, Debbie
(Mrs. Donald Haggart), Guysborough,
Patricia Lynn, at home; Valda,
Stellarton;
seven sons, Claude and Stephen, both of Antigonish;
Paul, Port
Hawkesbury; Barry, Calgary;
Timmy, New Glasgow; David, at home; John,
Windsor;
six sisters, Mrs. Catherine Worth, Cook's Cove; Mrs. Mary Munroe,
Toronto; Mrs. Doris Black, Baddeck; Ruth
(Mrs. Gordon DeWinters), Halifax;
Dolena (Mrs. Randy Hiltz),
Kentville; Rose (Mrs. Fred Dowding), Mahone Bay;
three brothers, Russell, Guysborough;
Hartley and Charlie, both of Sydney;
eight grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Whitney
and a sister, Nina.
The body will be in
the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough,
after
4 p.m. today. Funeral service will be held
at 11 a.m. Saturday, in the
Baptist Church, Guysborough,
Rev. Larry MacLaren officiating. Burial will be
in St. Anne's Parish Cemetery.
