BAKER, CLARENCE "Clad" - 86,
Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., N.S., died Jan.
26, 2000
in the Queen's General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in 1913,
in Liscomb, Guys. Co.,
he was a son of the late Walter A."Archie"
and Janet(Dingle)Baker. He served in the
Second World War with
the Navy and was a Shopwright by trade.
After the war he spent
much of his working life
as a fisherman and acclaimed boat
builder in Guys. Co.
The past 12 years he resided in Bridgewater
with his wife
Jean and stepson Jack and Sandra and Justin Robar.
He is survived by his wife, Jean C.Baker
(Rudolph)(Robar); daughter,
Noreen (Gordon)Hubley,
Liscomb; son, Gordon, Ontario; stepdaughters,
Myrna
(Keith) Sanderson, Sydney; Blanche (Ken) Edmonds, Dartmouth,
Judy
(Alec) Hartling, Halifax; stepsons; Eric (Gwen) Robar,
Port Bickerton,
Jack (Sandra) Robar, Bridgewater;
sisters, Eliza Creaser, Riverport,
Helen Ellis, Ont., brother, Walter (Joan) Baker,
Liscomb; 5 grandchildren;
several great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his beloved
son,
Lawrence "Smitty" Baker, second wife Marion Smith;
stepsons, Keith
Robar, Graham Robar; sister Marjorie Croft;
brothers; William Baker,
Maxwell Baker, Burnham Baker.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 pm today,
funeral service will be 11 am, Sat., Jan. 29,
both in Ecum Secum
Funeral Home, Sherbrooke.
Burial in Liscomb United Church Cemetery.
