Roberts, H. Francis (Hucks)

73, Canso, died August 31,1997,
in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso.
Born in Canso, he was a son of the late
Arthur and Martha (Hurst) Roberts. He was a retired electrician.
He was a member of the All Saints Anglican Church;
former treasurer and warden, and member of the parish council.
He was a veteran of The Second World War
as a gunner with the 95th Battery
of the 15th Canadian Field Regiment.
He was an avid salmon fisherman,
golf and sports enthusiast. Surviving are his wife
of 45 years Winnifred (MacKinnon); daughters,
Susan (Brian O’Handley), Canso; Brenda (Terry) Standing,
Belgium; sons Harold (Karen); Eric (Susan), Canso;
Paul (Martha), Lower Sackville; brothers, Ansley, Truro;
Eric, Peabody,Mass; grandchildren, Devin, Jennifer,
Jana, Adam, Tyler, Erika, Danielle, Julia.
He was predeceased by brothers, Harry Appelton, John, Carl, Arthur;
sisters, Kelsie, Shirley. Cremation has taken place.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday
in All Saints Anglican Church, Canso,
Rev. Jim Speer officiating. Burial of ashes
will be in the church cemetery. Friends are welcome
to a reception following the service. Family flowers only.
