Murphy, Charles Stephen – 72,
Drum Head, Guysborough County, died February 14, 1994,
in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Queensport, Guysborough County,
he was a son of the late John and Grace (Greencorn) Murphy.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He spent most of his working life as a tinsmith at the Halifax dockyard.
He is survived by his common-law wife, Theresa Logan,
two sons, Arnold, Half Island Cove, Guysborough County;
Emerson, Montague, P.E.I; two step-sons, David Logan, Dennis Logan,
both of Drum Head; four stepdaughters, Donna (Mrs. Merle Sangster),
New Harbour; Darlene Logan, Halifax; Diane (Mrs. Carl Rudolph),
Antigonish; Dottie Logan, Drum Head; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife,
the former Ruby Oddessa Jamieson; common-law wife, Laura Grover; four brothers,
Clarence, Seymore, Perry, Arthur; three sisters, Goldie,
Geneva, Hilda; and a grandson in infancy. Visitation will be
2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in New Harbour United Baptist Church
where funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday,
Rev. Lola Mather-Dyer officiating. Burial will be
in Riverside Cemetery, New Harbour. Donations may be
made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
Funeral arrangements under direction of the G.W. Giffin Funeral Home,
Country Harbour.
