Longobardi, George Lionel – 69,
Guysborough, died Tuesday in Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
Born in New York, he was a son of the late
John and Mary (O’Connor) Longobardi.
He was a member of St. Ann’s Church, Guysborough.
He was a retired lineman for the Nova Scotia Power Corporation.
In later years, he operated the pro shop for Guysborough Tourist Complex.
A veteran of the Second World War, he served
with West Nova Scotia Regiment. He was a member of
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 81, Guysborough.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Mildred Gillis; three daughters, Zita, Mary,
both of Halifax; Phyllis, Springhill, Cumberland County;
three sons, Michael, Paul, both of Halifax,
Gerard, Florenceville, NB; a sister, Anna
(Mrs. D.C.Laffin), Halifax; six grandchildren.
The body is in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home,
Guysborough, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and Thursday.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Ann’s Church,
Guysborough, Rev. Robert Day officiating.
Burial will be in parish cemetery.
No flowers by request. Donations may be made
to St. Ann’s Parish Cemetery Fund, or any charity.
