Sullivan, Lucy Ann
90, Cooks Cove, Guysborough County,
died November 1, 1994, in St Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Cooks Cove she was a daughter of the late
George and Ada (Dort) MacDonald.
She was a retired schoolteacher and member of St Ann’s Parish,
Guysborough. Having graduated from Teachers College in Truro,
in 1925 she taught at various schools throughout Guysborough County.
She was a founding member and first president of
the local Home and School Association.
She was actively involved with the Canadian Red Cross
Society war effort. She is survived by
daughter, Evelyn Kent, Dartmouth; sons, George, John both of Cooks Cove;
Arthur, Ont; Frederick, Dartmouth; sister,
Mrs. Elsie Sullivan, Antigonish; 21 grandchildren;
27 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband
Joseph; daughters, Dorothy, Bernice Hunter, Elsie Cook;
son, Bernard; sister, Clara; brothers, Harry, Robert;
2 grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-4,
7-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home,
Guysborough. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Friday
in St Ann’s Church, Guysborough,
Rev. Allan MacPherson officiating. Burial will be
in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made
to Palliative Care Unit of St Martha’s Regional Hospital or any charity.
