JARVIS, James Lewis - 87,
Hortons Cove, Guysborough County, died July 25, 1994, at home.
Born in Canso, he was a son of the late John and Clara (Rhynold) Jarvis.
He was a retired farmer. He was past master
of Eastern Light Lodge 72 and was presented with his 50-year jewel;
charter member of Chedabucto Chapter Order of Eastern Star;
an elder of Wesley United Church and was a former superintendent
of Evergreen Cemetery. He was the last surviving member
of his immediate family. He is survived by four daughters,
Beatrice Eisler, Hortons Cove; Nan (Mrs. Harold Feltmate), Guysborough;
Lynette (Mrs. David Snowball), Ottawa; Carol (Mrs. Cecil Parks),
Westphal; two sons, James R. (Buster), Halifax;
Alan, New Minas; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Hilda Worth;
two brothers, Jack, George; sister, Gertrude.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. tonight, 2-4, 7-9 p.m.
Wednesday in Wesley United Church, Guysborough where funeral will be
2:30 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Bill Ford officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Guysborough. Donations may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital,
Wesley United Church, Canadian Foundation of Ileitis and Colitis or any charity.
Arrangements are under direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough.
