Malone, Laura Edith – 78, Tor Bay, Guysborough County,
died February 1, 1997, in QEII Health Sciences Centre,
VG Site, Halifax. Born at Tor Bay Point,
Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late Havelock P. Webber
and Margaret) Peart (Webber) Gammon.
She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tor Bay.
A retired cook, she had worked for John Doyle Fisheries
in Lismore and Judique, as well as Eastern Shore Fisheries, Larry’s River.
Surviving are her husband, Herbert Franklin Malone;
son, Hughie Gammon, Tor Bay; daughters, Clara (Mrs. Walter Gillie),
Pine Tree, Pictou County; Lyndia Gillie, Guysborough;
Diane (Mrs. Bennett Sangster), Chezzetcook; sisters,
Genesta (Mrs. Douglas Aikens), Cooks Cove; Shirley (Mrs. Keith Luddington),
Elsie (Mrs. Charles Sangster), both of New Harbour; grandsons,
Kelly Sangster, Derek Gillie, Timothy Sangster and Daniel Sangster;
granddaughter, Sharon Gillie. She was predeceased by
her first husband, Warren Gammon; brother, Lindsay Webber; sister, Evelyn Munroe.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service will be 2 p.m.
Tuesday, both in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tor Bay.
Rev. James Spear officiating. Burial in Church of the Good Shepherd Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations to Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements entrusted to G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
