Canso - Gerald Ernest Lumsden, 78, of Ferrylane Apts., Guysborough,
died
Tuesday in St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Canso, he was a son of
the late Benjamin and Stella (Dort) Lumsden.
He was a retired marine
engineer.
A veteran of the Second World War, he served with
the Royal
Canadian Navy and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion,
branch 46,
Canso. He was a member of
the United Baptist Church, Canso. He is survived by
a son, Kenneth, California; a sister, Mrs. Jenetta Bray, Halifax;
and a
brother, Alden, Bedford. He was predeceased by
two brothers, Albert and
Colin. The remains are resting
in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso,
where funeral will be held
Friday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Union
Cemetery, Canso.
