BENJAMIN LUMSDEN

CANSO - The death of Benjamin Lumsden occurred at
the Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso,

Mr. Lumsden, 82, was a native of this town,
and had spent all his life here.

Except for a period when he served on the engineering staff

He also served on the old Robert G. Cann,
of Yarmouth, and her successors, the Surf, the O-wera,
and other craft, which operated on the Canso-Mulgravce daily freight
(and at one time passenger) service.

He is survived by four sons, all of whom
are following their father's occupation of marine engineer,
Gerald of Vancouver, Alden, of Bedford, Albert, of Seven Islands, Que.,
and Colin, at home; also one daughter, Genetta,
(Mrs. Josiah Bray) Beaver Harbor, N.B., and a number of grandchildren.
His wife predeceased him several years ago.

The funeral was held from the United Baptist Church,
Canso; Lic. Edgar Richardson officiating, with interment in the Union Cemetery.
