Mrs. James E. Diggins, 88
of St. Francis Harbour died Friday in St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Hadleyville, she was the former Beatrice Sarah Carter,
daughter of the late Zemeriah and Judy (Hadley) Carter.
Surviving are three daughters, Stella (Mrs. David Martin),
and Mrs. Elizabeth Morton, both of Halifax;
and Mrs. Mary Chisholm, St. Francis Harbour; six sons,
Ralph and Eugene, both in Montreal; Roy, Sand Point;
Jerome, Vancouver; Bernard, Hamilton; and Authur, Mulgrave;
28 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, one daughter,
three brothers and four sisters.
The body is at the family home.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. today
in St. Francis Church, Rev. Paul MacDonald officiating.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
