MRS. ZENIA DUNCAN - Canso, July 20 -
After a lengthy illness the death occurred July 13 of Mrs. Zenia Duncan,
widow of the late Charles Duncan,at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Capt. Ed Baker,Port Hawkesbury at the age of 78 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Viola(Mrs. William MacKinnon),Lynn Massachusetts;
Miss Gladys, Lynn, Massachusetts; Dorothy,Mrs. Capt Ed Baker;two sons,
Chester in Canso,N,S. and Harry,Trenton,N.S.;two brothers
John Grover,New Glasgow,N.S. and C.M. Grover at Lower Whitehead;
a sister Mrs.Capt James Lukeman,predeceased her a few years ago.
The remains were taken to MacIsaac Funeral home,Antigonish
to be forwarded to Lower Whitehead for burial.
Those out of village attending the funeral were Mrs. C.H. Feltmate,
Canso;Mrs. Minnie Munroe, Canso;Mayor W.A. Pembroke,Canso;
Mrs. Harry MacDuff,Fox Island;Mr and Mrs. William J Munroe,
Cole Harbour,Mrs Simon Williams,Queensport;Mrs. John Williams,
Queensport;Richard Uloth,Cole Harbour;Mrs. John Ehler,Mrs. Bertha Ehler,
Wilfred Ehler,Peasbrook;Mrs.Harry Duncan,Trenton;
Mr. Ernest Grover,New Glasgow;John C Grover,New Glasgow;
Mrs. MacKinnon,Glace Bay;Mr.and Mrs.James Lukerman,Glace Bay.
The burial was conducted by the Rev. J.W.Young and interment took place
in the family lot at the Lower Whitehead Cemetery.
The funeral was largely attended.
