My Friends
Mary
I've never been quite sure how I met Mary, but she insists it was one fourth grade afternoon. I was digging up the track with my friend, Jessica. Yes, in our childish minds, we were digging up a dinosaur skull. In fact, it was a Parasauralophus skull (my favorite dinosaur). Mary came over, asked what we were doing and, upon hearing the word "dinosaur", joined in. That was four years ago (has it really been that long?) and Mary and I are still friends, even in the eighth grade. I remember this incident, of course, but I believe that our meeting was somehow planned, for when I look back upon that memory, it seems like I'd've already known her for a long time...She's my friend, my co-writer, my fellow sugar-lover, and most of all, she's....MOVING!!! Mary!!! How dare you move to Utah!!! It stinks there!!! It's not CA!!! Waaaahhh! <End temper tantrum>Megan
Megan and I met through Marina, though we had been in the same Girl Scout Troop in second grade. We hadn't particularly liked each other, just sort of ignored each other. In fact, we were in the same third grade class and we both barely remember it! She says she remembers me as a loud, weird girl who only played during recess with boys and who was obsessed with Gargoyles (*cringe* My secret revealed!). I remember her as a quiet girl who never talked and hung out with a quiet group of friends. Now we're good friends, and I'm the one who got her into Pern, the Harper's Tale. Her characters, Litania, Talani, and Nemyne, are still rough, but she's learning fast (heck! She's the one who gave me the information to teach myself how to do html programming!) and I hope we stay friends. Duh. However, this will not be helped by the fact that she decided to go to <beep>in' Mitty. What's wrong with you, girl? *sniiiiiiifffle!*
Marina
We met? How did we meet? I think we (we being Mary, Ashley, and I) just sort of absorbed her into our group. I met her in sixth grade, when we were in the same class. Seeing her and her (sorry Mina) perfect school-girl looks, I thought, "Gee, she must get all A's all the time...Kind of a role-model type person..." and in a way I was right. About the all A's thing, that is. /She/ says she was watching us one day and, because none of her fifth grade friends, thought that we looked like we had a lot of fun, and so came over and wah-laa! Instant insanity! She went away to England over the summer of '99, got POed that some of us had gotten to be better friends, then came around and snugged closer. But she's being mean too. She decided to apply for Presentation, Leigh, and Westmont. She got into two of the three. Bad. Badbadbad. Baaaaaadddd....
Ashley
Ashley, Ashley, Volcanic Ash-leeeeeee! Oh, don't you hate that last nickname! Hmmm....I think (a rare thing it itself) we met in second grade...if not, then third. In fourth grade we were friends, though not very good ones, and stayed at that same level through fifth. Then *dum-dum-/DUM/* we had the same teacher in sixth, and became friends! Part of the insanity group! The ones who eat cheese (okay, maybe not that one)! She shares the same sense of humor that I do, likes the same creepy vampire books, and is the only other one in our group with longer than shoulderlength hair! So there! And she's nice, too! Ashey is goood...Ashey is going to Prospect with me....good Ashely, good. *beam*
In reality, I owe it to you guys. You've been my friends solidly, have cheered me up when I'm down, given me info about certain people (*blap blap blap!*), and just been basic good friends. Who can ask more? (Besides me and Marg...) Keep it up, soldiers!
Boy, wasn't that sappy? It'd be a good idea to leave this wierdo place. ;>
