I was raised a Catholic, but when I was 18 or so and out of HS, I lost all desire to attend any church! A cult religion, the JWs began coming to my door, every place I ever lived, even in England. They talked me into having "Bible studies" with them, mostly their literature. They eventually began to pressure me to go to their "Kingdom Hall" services. Instead, I finally prayed asking God if they were telling me the truth or not. He answered that prayer!
I immediately got the desire to go to a book store and found a book by the late Walter Martin, who wrote Kingdom of the Cults, among other books like Dialog On The Doorstep, With Jehovah's Witnesses. I had never read the Bible in my life, but my husband had an old KJV that I looked up the Scriptures in, and found out that the JWs were not telling me the truth!
I then prayed to God again asking for HIS truth! HE answered that prayer also. I went back to the bookstore and found some books by Hal Lindsey, The Late Great Planet Earth., 1980 Countdown To Armageddon and There's a New World Coming. The truth was in the Bible, where it had always been! I finally prayed asking Jesus to come into my life and heart, as my Lord and Savior! From that moment on my life and thoughts changed! I also wanted to be re- baptized by immersion, rather than sprinkled as an infant. One of the first desires that I had was to begin reading the Holy Bible!
