Galatians

This Bible study was from the Daily Bible shared beginning in May of 2001. One of our readers sent this enthusiastic Email regarding her excitment about this Epistle.

"Wonderful book. All about the precious gift of grace. We can add nothing to grace and we can bring nothing to the table, we are completely empty without grace. I think this is my favorite book, I am hoping you will spend a lot of time in this book :) Maybe go through the whole thing :) I just feel it is so important for all Christians to fully understand that there is nothing we can ever add to grace and to try is futile and useless. As a matter of fact to try to live up to ONE law is to try to live up to all the law, and it can put us in danger.[ Keeping laws to be saved is not receiving Jesus by grace, yet the moral laws are still to be followed after grace is received. All are accomplished in the royal law of love,(Gary) ] In this very book there is a warning about trying to go back to laws and back to works. The one work Paul discussed in detail in this book is circumcision but I believe you could put ANY work in that place and apply it to trying to live up to any law. Galatians 5 :3-4 "Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated form Christ: you have fallen away from Grace." Ouch, that is a serious warning.... I think I will live by grace and I will thank Jesus all the way home!!!! In His love, Kim"

One man who received Jesus for a time returned to Judaism and the law. Another who came out of a cult is receiving pressure to return. Others have felt that they have lost out in their standing in Christ Jesus. They need to understand about the gospel and grace. Jesus is Lord, his blood still saves and his grace has made us free. The epistle to the Galatians was written by Paul. It is the epistle of Christian liberty, (Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.) This epistle is the "Emancipation Proclamation" from all forms of legalism and bondage in the Christian experience.
