Isaiah 25

Song of Joy in Tribulation

Isa 25:1 O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

In the midst of tribulation, those in Christ Jesus can praise him for all He has done in the past. We can have peace in the midst of tribulation, knowing that God is faithful. Jesus is faithful and true to his promises.

Psa 43:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Isa 25:2 For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.

As Babylon of old fell, so shall the cities of the nations who come against Israel, for they are his covenant people. They too must receive Messiah and come into the new covenant.

Isa 25:3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.

The fear of God will come because of his wrath. We fear him out of love and respect.

Isa 25:4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

God is strength to the poor of spirit, those who do not trust in their own strength, but in God.

Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

A refuge from the storm, a hiding place from the storms of life. Praise and the word, strengthen us.

Psa 32:7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

Psa 119:114 Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

Isa 25:5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.

Evil people will be destroyed and sent to hell, with it's burning fire. The branch not connected to the true vine, but to satan, will be broken off and cast into the fire. The cloud is the presence of God, a shelter to his own people and judgement to those who oppress them.

John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

In times of trouble we can trust God and sing praises, we build our faith up in his word. He is our shelter, our faithful and true Lord and a terror to our enemies. Blessed be the LORD, how great is our eternal God.

The Victory Feast

The time is after the tribulation. Jesus is our victory!

Isa 25:6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

In this mountain, Jerusalem, shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast. Who are these people? Perhaps, those who are on earth at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. This will be a celebration for all saints, those in their new spirit bodies and those people who are the redeemed who come through the tribulation. There will be no evil people at this feast. No Judas receiving a sop from the Lord, and then going out to betray him.

The Lord of hosts is the host of this banquet. He is the Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, the God of the covenant who purposed to redeem us and who accomplished our redemption. He is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides salvation for us; Jehovah Nissi, God who is our victory and banner; Jehovah Shalom, God who is our peace; Jehovah Shammah, God who is there; Jehovah Tsidkenu, the Lord our righteousness; El-Shaddai, the Lord Almighty. (P.G. Mathews) ,

They all will be eating and drinking. Jesus had said that he would not drink of the fruit of the vine until he did so in his kingdom.

Mark 14:23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
Mark 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
Mark 14:25 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

Jesus did eat after he arose from the dead. He prepared a meal for his fisherman disciples.

Joh 21:11  Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
Joh 21:12  Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
Joh 21:13  Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.

He would drink with them in his earthly kingdom.

The kingdom of God will be on earth for a thousand years and then shall come the eternal home that Jesus has prepared for those who are his. This will be the dwelling place of God the Father and he shall be the light, with his son.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

A feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

No more counting calories, relax, be full of joy, it is a time of celebrating the victory in Jesus! Fat things prepared by the master chef. Maybe my mom's sour cream raisin pie? Delicious roasted meat of the fatted calf?

Luke 15:23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
Luke 15:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

The feast of the redeemed, with refined wines of the lees, the dregs removed, no alcohol, but the superb flavor. Come and dine for our tomorrow is forever with our Lord, let us rejoice and be glad. Until that day we must be about the Lord's business.

John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

We will have positions of authority in the Millennium. The risen Saints will be on earth with the children of Adam.

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

A time of fellowship and with understanding of things that we do not understand now. Do not give up, there is more ahead.

Unveiling on that Day

Be sure that all will occur at the time God has set.

Isa 25:7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations.

Jesus will return to Jerusalem. His truth is marching on, as the hymn sings. His righteousness will be known in all nations. He will be accessible to all, king of all.

Exo 30:6 And thou shalt put it before the veil that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.

Jesus is the presence of the LORD and as the temple veil was rent at his crucifixion, so will the spiritual blindness be removed at his coming.

Mat 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

And the veil will be taken off the eyes of the Jews, they will see their Messiah.

2 Cor 3:13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
2 Cor 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ.
2 Cor 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.
2 Cor 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.

Isa 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

1 Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Cor 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1 Cor 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1 Cor 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1 Cor 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1 Cor 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

This will also occur when all are in God's Holy dwelling place. Satan and death shall be cast into the lake of fire.

Rev 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
Rev 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
Rev 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Isa 25:9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

1 Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
1 Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1 Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1 Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
1 Th 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
1 Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
1 Th 5:7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
1 Th 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
1 Th 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
1 Th 5:10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
1 Th 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

In that day, it will all happen, the rapture, the thousand year reign of King Jesus on earth, the final judgement and the New Jerusalem. On that day, the end and the beginning will come.

2 Pet 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2 Pet 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2 Pet 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Pet 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2 Pet 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2 Pet 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2 Pet 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
2 Pet 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

The veil shall be taken away, and all these things will occur in God's appointed time. The day of the Lord is I believe a thousand years. His coming and his reigning on earth during the Millennium and finally New Jerusalem, our dwelling place. These are the last days, so far two thousand year days have passed since Jesus came, and his return is very soon.

Luke 21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luke 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Luke 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Look up, pray up, read up, gear up and stand up for Jesus.

Wrath against Moab types

Zep 2:9 Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.
Zep 2:10 This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.
Zep 2:11 The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

Isa 25:10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.

On mount Zion, Jerusalem after the tribulation, the hand of God shall rest. The power and presence of God will reside in Jerusalem; Jesus shall reign. The gentle Lamb of God comes with might and power. Those who are proud and who resist him, such as Moab, shall be trodden under foot as straw for the fertilizer pile.

1 Cor 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1 Cor 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
1 Cor 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
1 Cor 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

Isa 25:11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.

A stretching forth of the arm, as one swimming, an interesting metaphor. With the arm reaching forth all that is unholy must bow.

Psa 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Psa 2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Psa 2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
Psa 2:10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Psa 2:11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Psa 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Isa 25:12 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

Jer 13:15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
Jer 13:16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

Isa 2:12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

No proud heathen will stand against the Lord. All pride will be brought down and riches and power will not save them. All that exalts itself against God, even the ways and laws of a land; all will bow to the LORD.

Isa 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Isa 55:2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
Isa 55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

There are many who mock God now, we shall warn them and give them the message of the cross. When Jesus comes, the mockers will be destroyed and praise and worship will fill the earth.
