Rom 10:1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Israel, having stumbled because of rejecting Jesus, brings Paul to speak his hearts desire for his people, with prayers that they might be saved.
Rom 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
Rom 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Having a zeal for God, they worship him by traditions thinking that observing laws will save them.
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Father God, I believe we are in the last days. Many of your Jewish people will see the Messiah and enter into the Kingdom. Help them Lord to see the Messiah, your son so that they will receive the fullness you have for those who are of faith. Who is worthy to receive eternal life? Only your son and he has made the way for all who receive him by faith. Thank you Father God, amen.
Faith not Law
Rom 10:5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
If you obey the laws, you must live by them without sinning, an impossible task.
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
Rom 10:7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
Righteousness by faith in Jesus, say not that we must ascend into heaven to receive Jesus, or descend into hell, Jesus has already fulfilled the law and has done all things for our salvation.
Salvation by works is the way of most religions. Some make the way so hard to find. Even devils speak to them that they must some how suffer to pay for their own sins. NO, Christ suffered and shed his innocent and pure blood for us. There is nothing more we can do but receive his free gift of life.
The devil puts guilt and self hatred in the hearts of those seeking. I know, I at one time, a young man, had thoughts of suicide. Listen! The devil has come to steal, destroy and kill. Jesus has come to give you a new life. The devil will try to kill you so that you will not come to Jesus and be free and forgiven. Receive Jesus by faith, all other ways fail. Only in the crucified and risen savior, Jesus is salvation from your sins. Jesus loves you, this I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong, they are weak, but he is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me, Yes Jesus loves you, the Bible tells me so.
Salvation
I thank God for these particular scriptures. They are his promises and show us the steps to salvation from our sins. These scriptures are referred to often in leading many to Christ and a new life in His Spirit.
Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Preaching the word of faith
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
What is the way?
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Confess with your mouth, or write it on the screen, that Jesus has risen from the grave. He is the only one who said he was of God who has risen from the grave, proving that he is of God. He is God the Son as this other powerful witnessing verse says:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Confession of faith in Jesus is believing and trusting in him with all your heart; this will save you from your sins.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
It is God who chooses you and then we respond with confession of faith and with believing in our hearts that he has risen from the grave. Confess your sins to God, he knows them, and give all to him. For Jesus has died for all your sins.
Psa 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
We acknowledge that Jesus is Lord and master of our life. After this, ask for the Holy Spirit. He will teach you all truth. By the spirit comes power to repent, to turn from the old ways, and to seek Gods direction and will. He will be the power to share the faith with others You will be born again of the Spirit of God..
Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
1 Pet 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Behold all things have become new, I am a child of God. I have everlasting life with Jesus and he holds me in his hand . I am an adopted child of the king, forever.
If you think Jesus cannot forgive you, you are mistaken. No one is beyond the cleansing blood of Jesus if you are able to respond to his love. After death it is too late.Yes, he loves you, now is the time of salvation. Come to Jesus.
Whosoever
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
I have met people who were isolated from God and other people. When approached to receive Jesus, they say " No, what would others think?" Who cares! It is what God thinks of us that really matters. Do not for a second believe any voice of the world or in your mind that would say God does not love you. He loves you, he sent His son out of love to die to bring you freedom and life.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
There is no difference between Jew and Greek or Arab. All must come to God the same way; through the Lord Jesus Christ. If we trust in any other way, we perish in our sins.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Mat 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Who shall be saved? Whoseoever shall call upon the Lord Jesus Christ, shall be saved.
Gospel of Peace
Our loving God wants you to come to him, to call upon him and to trust in him.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Psa 86:5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
We must believe;
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Rom 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Dan 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
LORD father, make us lights that shine in the world and with you forever, all because we believe the message and tell others that your son has risen from the dead and is the way of forgiveness and life. Save the chosen lost and remove the darkness, in Jesus name, amen.
Preach it
God calls and he sends people out to do his calling. Moses was sent to bring deliverance to his people.
Exo 3:10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
The prophet Isaiah heard the call of God and answered:
Isa 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
The Lord sent the Apostles with a warning:
Mat 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah and the duties are passed down to his disciples:
Isa 61:1 The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Many are saved from the witnessing of the disciples. Will you join those with this calling? The fields are white to harvest, help bring others to Jesus and a new life.
Rom 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
Unfortunately many do not believe the gospel news, the good news of Jesus. People will often accept all faiths, but be lost themselves. Many believe in false gods and goddesses. Scriptures have warned of this happening.
1 Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1 Tim 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1 Cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Cor 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Hearing God's word is the answer, so often people come to believe wrong things because they do not know Gods word. Faith comes from hearing and understanding Gods word.
We must pray that our friends be allowed to hear the truth. Sometimes satan blinds them and makes them to not hear.
Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Friend, if you don't understand something, do not be afraid to ask the teacher. I welcome your questions, often others have need of the answers to your question.
Acts 8:30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
Acts 8:31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
Acts 8:32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
Dear heavenly father send your people to do your work. Prepare us as we learn your word and pray seeking your will. We are the ones commissioned (co-mission, Jesus and you) to preach and teach the good news of Jesus death, burial and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins. Help us to bring back the lost to you, our loving God and father. Your love goes out to all people. Amen
Forewarned
Rom 10:18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
Paul himself spred the good news to the ends of the known world. Remember America was not discovered until Columbus sailed here in 1492.
Acts 13:47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
Rom 10:19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
Deu 32:20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.
Deu 32:21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Rom 10:20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
Isa 65:1 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.
So Israel was forewarned through Moses and the prophets, they were not without warning. All of us must hear the word of God so that we will not be in the dark. The word is truth and light.
Rom 10:21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
Isa 65:2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;
Not only Israel but most do walk in their own way and do not seek after God. Remember, God had made Israel the deliverers of Gods word to all the world. They were responsible for the word of God.
All these prophesies help us to understand that we should not be so amazed that Israel, for the most part, has rejected the gospel of Jesus Christ; this too was foretold. But there is always a remnant of God's people who see and receive.
