Romans 3

None Righteous

Rom 3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
Rom 3:2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

2 Pet 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

They were given the word of God before Christ. They were to keep it, teach it and tell others. They had the light (torah).

How many of you were in families with no knowledge of God or his laws taught to you? The Jewish people passed down the laws to their children, they were at an advantage.

Prov 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Rom 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

God is faithful and rewards those who believe in Him.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

In the Chats many do not believe in a creator God. If He is, then we must be accountable to him. This affects every aspect of life, including abortion, stem cell research, same sex marriage, irresponsibility to children. Incest? The law says stone such a one. The law is not tolerant of sin.

Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

God honors His word, it is true. By the word we hold him to His promises. He cannot deny himself, he is the"I am that I am."We are by faith what God's word says we are. We overcome the devils accusations and shall not come into condemnation, if we have received new life in Christ Jesus. In Christ is complete freedom to know and to serve God.

Rom 3:5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)
Rom 3:6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

If through our sin, God appears righteous and just, why do we complain? We sin and God is apart unto Holiness. Do you expect him to lower His standard for you? If so how would he judge the world?

Jesus spoke these words:

John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
John 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Rom 3:7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
Rom 3:8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

(In truth I find some of Paul's writings hard to understand, but we are to compare scriptures with other scriptures to find the meanings.)

We do God no favor to live in sin, making his law look good.

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Rom 3:9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles (non Jews) , that they are all under sin;

Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Gal 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Thank you Jesus for your grace, for whether a Jew under the law, or a man of conscience, we cannot please God. It is by faith in you that we are at last free and forgiven. The law and our conscience witness to our sinful nature. Praise Jesus for his work of redemption on the cross. His Spirit witnesses with our spirit that we are become children of God. (Rom 8:16)

Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rom 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Rom 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

There was never a righteous man before Christ Jesus. (He had no sin)

The knowledge of sin is important to the need for forgiveness. Isaiah the prophet said these words about our sins:

Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Isa 64:7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

It's a terrible thing to be alone in sin, tormented by the devil. Yet it is important to know that all are sinners.

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Yes the knowledge of sin leads us to the sin remover, The Lord Jesus Christ.

Psa 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Lord God, we agree that we all were in sin or shame. But you forgive the sins of those who come to you with a humble heart confessing the need. Jesus, your shed blood paid for our sins, there is no other way. Without receiving you we are lost in our sins. Amen

Rom 3:13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
Rom 3:14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

Again more evidence of the fact that none are righteous apart from Christ, the mouth. Who can control it?

James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
James 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

God will never be glorified through lies. Paul's accusers called him a liar? What fruit did he have? We know he was of God by his fruit. Jesus spoke of this.

John 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
John 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

James 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
James 3:9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
James 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Poison of asps, full of deadly poison, I remember the child's saying; "sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me;" but many people are hurt from evil words. We can expect this from the devil and those he uses. We must know what God's word says, not the words of sinful people, or demonic voices in the mind.

Jesus speaking to the accusations of the Pharisees:

Mat 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Mat 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Mat 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

We must also beware of gossip...

Prov 11:13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

Lord God, help us with the words of our mouth. Jesus clean our hearts, for out of the heart come our words, without Jesus our words are evil. Lord help us to speak words that build up another, words of love and encouragement. Place a guard on our lips so that we speak words always pleasing to you. May we hide your word in our hearts so that we may not sin against you. In Jesus name, amen.

Justified and Redeemed

Rom 3:15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
Rom 3:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:

These are controlled by satan, the destroyer.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Psa 1:6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psa 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Psa 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Psa 2:3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

I have heard this from sinful people: We will be free! Free to do as we please without a religion preventing me! NO! They are not free, they are bound by sin and will be facing the wrath of God, if they do not put away their evil ways by turning from evil and receiving forgiveness in Christ Jesus. Life is not a dream, to be separated from God devising all sorts of mischief. We are not to live in a delusion.

Psa 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Psa 2:5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

Rom 3:17 And the way of peace have they not known:
Rom 3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Luke 12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Oh sinful man, you who think it is clever to do evil, thinking satan will love you for your evil deeds. Listen! Satan desires to destroy you, he hates you. Jesus has destroyed the power of Satan, run to Jesus, He is your hope and your peace.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Our righteous Father, no sin may dwell in your presence, for you are a consuming fire. You have sent your Son in the form of a man to show us your love and your way to life. Jesus is the way to life and forgiveness. Thank you Holy Father for providing us a way to come to you and be forgiven. Amen

Rom 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

The law is God's law given to the Children of Isreal through Moses.

Exo 24:12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.

The moral laws are still true, the ceremonial laws do not apply to us. Jesus was the fulfillment of the laws. He established the new covenant, a covenant of grace by faith through His shed blood.

Gal 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
Gal 3:20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
Gal 3:21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
Gal 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Wonderful grace of Jesus, baptized in the Holy Spirit so that the law shall be written on our hearts, serving in obedience by faith in Jesus. All are as one in Christ Jesus.

Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Titus 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

So then, the law gives us the knowledge of sin but does not remove our sins. We cannot remove our sins by keeping the law, we can reduce them, but all sin and need forgiveness and mercy from God.

Merciful Father, your mercy is given us through your son, Jesus Christ the savior. It is not the law by which we are made not guilty of sin, but by the perfect life of Jesus, given as payment for sins in our place. We receive Jesus and are forgiven. We thank you for loving us and making the way of life available to us if we believe and confess our faith in him. Amen

Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

I use these verses often in witnessing for the need to be forgiven. If we do not know we are sinners (all have sinned) and cut off from God and heaven, then we are not concerned. This is a problem with so many false religious beliefs.

Some do not concern for sin because they think to die is to not exist any longer. No, we are created with an immortal soul. It returns to God, or without Jesus, is judged into hell.

Others get around sin saying we have a chance to work out our salvation in pergatory. No if you can't get to heaven by works when on earth, there is no other hope.

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Still others say all is by chance. Evolution is how all came together. No way, yet many believe this and the schools teach this, there is no accountability to God for sins.

In Chat last night some were saying that Job was a righteous man, without sins. The word says he was righteous, but they say without sin. This contradicts scriptures.

Romans 3:24 is God's word, He does not lie. Along with this verse is;

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

What then if all have sinned, then all perish? No God counted Job righteous by his faith in God's promises. Abraham also was counted righteous by believing the promises of God.

Gal 3:5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Gal 3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

We also are saved from our sins by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are justified, declared not guilty, by God the Supreme Judge.

We are redeemed, bought from Satan by the price of Jesus' blood and death, followed by his coming back to live eternally. We are made the righteousness of Christ Jesus, our sins are removed.

Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Thank you Father God for giving us Jesus to remove our sins. What would we do without him? Faith in a false believe will not save us. Lord so many believe wrong things. May your word reach out to the lost and may they receive you. You are the Living word of life come down from heaven to save a people unto yourself. I am yours Lord. Help me to share your message and bring in more souls for you. In your name I pray, amen

Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Jesus, by His death (by His blood) was a propitiation (substitute sacrifice) for us; as He was judged on our behalf, the Father could demonstrate His righteousness in judgment against sin, while sparing those who were deserving of that judgment. This is called his grace.

The Greek word for propitiation (hilasterion) is also used for the "mercy seat," the lid that covered the ark of the covenant, upon which sacrificial blood was sprinkled as an atonement for sin. While it might be said that this passage is saying "Jesus is our mercy seat," it probably has more the straight forward idea of propitiation that of Jesus being our substitute sacrifice. He was the means by which we are forgiven by God, satisfying his justice.

As sacrificial blood was sprinkled on the mercy seat on the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 16), God's wrath was averted because a substitute had been slain on behalf of sinners coming by faith . Jesus is the final substitute sacrifice for our sins. No sin can be with God.

Rom 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

At the cross, God demonstrated His righteousness by offering man justification (a legal verdict of "not guilty"), while remaining completely just (because the righteous penalty of sin had been paid at the cross)

Father God, thank you for sending Jesus as our propitiation, our substitute sacrifice. We receive him by faith and you legally forgive our sins. We love you Father and worship you for your ways are not our ways. Yet you have shown us the way of everlasting life with you in love and peace, Jesus is the abundant life for us, now and forever. Our sins are forgiven! Amen.

Rom 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Jesus is our salvation, he saves us from our sins, he made it possible by dying on the cross in our place, he is our substitute atonement for sins. Only He was without sins, we cannot enter heaven by any work that we do, we still have sin. We enter heaven and are forgiven by FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ. He makes us good enough, by faith in him. Wonderful grace of Jesus!

Rom 3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
Rom 3:30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth (by faith) in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Jesus by our faith makes us new and fills us with the Holy Ghost (Spirit). We are free from sin's bondage and free to serve our Lord.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Thank you Lord God for Jesus who by faith has removed my sins and made me a child of God. You are my daddy, Father, I can come to you and talk with you at any time. Jesus has removed the barrier of my sins. He has reconciled me and others to the God creator that has made us to glorify himself. I will praise you Father God, lover of my soul for all time. Amen

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
