Hunger 1
She had been on her usual patrol just strolling around the boneyard. Nothing unusual for a Monday night. A few newbies and a bum or two. Faith was getting bored, ever since the hole in the Hellmouth had been closed things had been pretty lame in Sunnydale.
Now that was a night to remember. For a week at least. It had all of the three F's. Fighting, Food and Fucking. Considering who she slept with that wasn't such a good thing. Shrugging it off the slayer hopped on to a nearby headstone.
She was idly tossing her stake in the air and catching it. He watched her silently from behind a Juniper tree. The vampire was intrigued by her style of fighting and the way she swaggered when she walked. So this was the new Slayer in town, Spike was impressed.
Faith shifted a bit on the headstone. She looked almost as if she was oblivious to the vampire watching her. She wasn't. The brunette waited a few more minutes before finally deciding to talk.
"So you done lookin' or what? 'Cause I'm in the mood for a good rumble ya know."
The vampire stepped out from behind his tree and leaned against it. He took out a cigarette casually lighting it. Faith watched half amused half bewildered. She hadn't seen him before but somehow she just knew he wasn't so easy to stake.
"A rumble you say? Hm haven't had a good rumble me self since Prague. That was oh I'd say about a hundred years of so ago."
"You aren't just a normal fang are you?"
"You're powers of perception astound me pet. Name's Spike but you can call me Spike."
The slayer cocked her head to one side and smiled something that looked a little predatory. Spike liked that and he liked her, it would be such a shame when he killed her. Faith slid off the slab of marble and took a few steps forward. With another smile she tossed her stake aside and stood there.
"Well then Spike, you can call me Faith. You seem like you could use a good fight... wanna try me?"
He watched her move gracefully. If he was surprised by her actions he didn't show it. Instead he tossed his cigarette butt to the floor and circled the slayer. She was tensed for action but you wouldn't know it by looking at her. They locked eyes just before Spike vamped out.
The blonde lunged forward hoping to pin Faith to the ground. She just smirked and pivoted forcing him down first. They fell and rolled away from one another quickly. Faith leapt up in one fluid motion just as Spike did. They smiled not so friendly smiles at each other then circled again.
Spike shrugged off his duster and tossed it to the side. Faith did the same with her leather jacket. They engaged again throwing punches and kicks in rapid succession, neither one gaining the advantage. Faith warily eyed the vamp, he wasn't half bad as looks went and as a fighter he was damn good. Too bad she'd have to dust him.
"Ya know slayer you'd make an excellent vampire. I mean you already got the leather thing down, all you'd need are the vampiric lusts and you'd be set."
"Yeah Gedrick told me that right before I dusted him."
"Gedrick... Cor pet he was older then me. He's a master vampire isn't he?"
"Was."
Despite himself Spike laughed and relaxed his stance. Faith chuckled softly and took a step back. It seemed things weren't as boring as she thought. The vampire dug around in his coat for another cigarette and his bottle of whiskey. He noticed Faith eyeing it hungrily. Spike tossed her the bottle and sat down on the grass.
Faith didn't think twice she just sat and tipped the bottle to her lips. It burned going down and she loved it. She took another long swig and handed the bottle back. Spike's face slid back in to human form and he grinned. It was charming and he knew it but something told him she wasn't so easy to impress.
"You been in SunnyHell long Slayer?"
"Awhile. Long enough to hate it here."
"I know what you mean. The place wouldn't be so bad if Buffy and her tag alongs weren't so damn annoying. Always killing my minions before their first feed."
"Yeah have you ever noticed how she's so damn..."
"High and mighty? Just cos she's the slayer and I'm a vamp."
"Yeah and like her friends totally worship her bottle blondness. No offense."
"No worries pet."
They sat there for a while each in their own thoughts about BuffyHood and her Merry Men. Finally Spike broke the silence. He was getting hungry and he was either going to eat the Slayer or have to find someone else to drain.
"Hate to scrap and run but I need to feed or I'm going to end up eating you."
Faith gave him a smirk and lunged at him. She straddled his waist and held him pinned to the ground.
"That sounds like it could be fun. Slaying always makes me hungry."
"More like horny from the way you're grinding on me."
"That too."
