Seeing You

I hear your voice, your laugh
I imagine your smile
I turn around, see you beside me
But you're not there.

I see your body run down the court
Your dusty blond hair bouces with each step.
In one graceful motion
You grasp the abll, fly through the air and
Slam it
Into the basket.
My heart skips a beat as a
Smile instantly, automatically, proudly
Blankets my face.

You look up, see me in the bleachers.
What are you thinking?
Do you think of me now? Wonder what I'm doing?
Who I'm seeing?

I'm seeing you
Everywhere I turn.
You are as much a part of me as
Sight
Sound
Breath.

As I sleep
You come to me like a
Spirit in the night.
I wake up expecting
Hoping
To see
Your deep, penetrating eyes

Will I ever
See you again
In reality
Or are you to be forever a memory,
A picture in my mind?
