MY SPIRITUAL BELIEFS
TRINITY
The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are as one. Each are a characteristic of God.
SALVATION
Is the only way to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. We can't inherit the Kingdom by our own works but by receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in our hearts.
It is a response of obedience to Jesus Christ as Lord.
Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then those who gladly received His word were baptized; and that day about three thousands souls were added to them. Acts 2:38,41
Baptism doesn't save, it demostrates our recognition of the Lordship of Christ over everything in our lives.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you alwayas, even to the end of the age. Matt 28:19-20
BAPTISM
In order to draw near to Jesus, we must experience Him at work in our lives. By doing this we must pray, mediate, and study His Word.
I am the vine you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5
The most memorable experience I had in the Lord is when I rededicated myself Oct 18, 1998.
When I rededicated, it was so wonderful because my motives the first time (in 1992) were for the wrong reasons but as I continued to go to church I feel more in love with God. However, I wasn't truly loving God and eventually I fell out of fellowship with Him.
In both situations, I knew what God's will was but it was not what I wanted. I had to learn the hard way and that was when God allowed me to go through some rough times so that I could call out His name and ask Him to help me. Since Jesus is so merciful and just, I was FORGIVEN despite the wretched person I am.
God took me into His bossum and gave me strength to get through what I put MYSELF in. Since God has placed the desire to draw nearer to Him, I have come to understand that God needs to be my first Love, the Ruler of my life, and in all that I do it must glorfiy God and not self.
KEEPING THE FAITH
I came to realize that God places people along our path for a reason.
