People today claim to be "Christians" but aren't. They come to Jesus for the wrong reasons (like I did) such as; they are going through hard times, they need money, they need a blessing of some sort. However, they fail to realize that it's a true committment to be a Servant for the Lord. Lets analyze Servant- it means to submit, surrender, to serve. People that come to be disciples for the Lord don't realize it cost something and that is self. When things are not going right, they tend to fall out of fellowship because they aren't happy anymore. They blame God for the hard times they are going through instead of taking responsiblity of
not being obedient to His word.




In Luke 14:33 states this, ...any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.


We must carry His cross daily and if we don't we cannot be called his disciple. (Luke 14:27)


We must be doers of His word and not hearers. If we love the Lord, we must give Him total control of our lives. God wants the best for us, however we want what WE want so therefore we settle for second best. We shouldn't second guess Him; we just need to let GOD BE GOD because when we have Him we have everything. When we come to know God through experience, we will understand His love and know that what He commands is not burdensome. In loving God, we have no problem obeying His commands. "This is love for God; to obey his commands. And his command are not burdensome." 1 John 5:3





Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me is loved by my father, and I too will love him and show myself to him. John 14:21

So believers and unbelievers remember this: God gives His best to those Who leave the choice To Him. Furthermore, Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord. And he shall give you the desires of your heart. Ps 37:3-4


A challenge: Ask yourself do I truly love and trust God? What adjustment do I need to make in my life?



He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God. John 8:47
