*By month, the schedule breaks down as follows: October (2 home, 0 away = 2 total), November (6 home, 10 away = 16 total), December (8 home, 6 away = 14 total), January (6 home, 10 away = 16 total), February (7 home, 4 away = 11 total), March (9 home, 6 away = 15 total), April (3 home, 5 away = 8 total).

*By day, the schedule breaks down as follows: Monday (1 home, 1 away = 2 total), Tuesday (11 home, 6 away = 17 total), Wednesday (3 home, 8 away = 11 total), Thursday (5 home, 6 away = 11 total), Friday (8 home, 5 away = 13 total), Saturday (1 home, 9 away = 10 total), Sunday (12 home, 6 away = 18 total).

*The Kings longest homestand is seven games, which includes contests against Washington (February 11th), Seattle (February 14th), San Antonio (February 16th), Milwaukee (February 18th), Boston (February 20th), New York (February 23rd), and Detroit (February 25th).

*Sacramento embarks on seven road trips of three or more games in length. The longest is a six-game journey that features stops in Chicago (Mar. 29th), Detroit (Mar. 30th), Indiana (Apr. 1st), Washington (Apr. 2nd), Boston (Apr. 4th), and Philadelphia (Apr. 6th).

*Of the 18 sets of back-to-back games, seven are of the away-away variety, three are home-away, and eight are away-home. There are not back-to-back home games scheduled at ARCO Arena this season.

*There are seven afternoon contests (prior to 5 p.m. local) on the Kings’ 2002-03 schedule, including three national television games on ABC and one on ESPN. The afternoon games not scheduled to be televised nationally are at Golden State on January 20th (1 p.m. PST), at Toronto on January 26th (9:30 a.m. PST), and at Houston on February 2nd (1 p.m. PST).

*The Kings will open the 2002-03 regular season slate on Tuesday, October 29th versus Cleveland, marking the second straight season that the club has started the campaign at home. The Kings are 10-7 in season openers in the Sacramento-era, including a mark of 9-1 in season openers at home.

*The Kings have never played the Cavaliers in a season opener.

*This marks the third year in a row the Kings have played a regular season game in the month of October. In last year’s season opener on October 30th, Sacramento defeated the Seattle Sonics, 101-95 at ARCO Arena. Prior to that, the Kings won a 100-81 decision over the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on October 31, 2000.

*Sacramento’s road opener takes place on November 2nd at Memphis. The only other time the Kings opened up the season on the road against the Grizzlies was at the start of the 1997-98 campaign (November 1st) when Sacramento fell 97-96 at General Motors Arena in Vancouver.

*The Kings will play on three national holidays – Christmas (December 25th at Los Angeles Lakers), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 20th at Golden State), and Valentines Day (February 14th versus Seattle).
