~~~ NO MORE PAIN ~~~
"Oh no!" Thought Sara as she lie quietly, shaking in her bed, " He is on a drunken rage again!" Sara Moore was seventeen, and had seen and dealt with more pain that most people do in there whole life. When she was fourteen, her mother and sister were killed in a severe car accident. Sara had dealt with this fairly well, but her father hadn't. He had become an alcoholic and become physically and mentally abusive to Sara over the years. No one knew about this, even though Sara often came to school with bruises on her arms and legs, even a black eye sometimes.
Right when She was about to fall asleep she heard sirens..." Maybe this time will be it!" There was a loud crash as the police men threw open door when Sara's dad wouldn't open it. " Sir we have been called by a neighbor for a noise disturbance. The police man were sure that he was drunk and asked him if there was anyone else in the house. "No!" "Now go away!" Sara's father shouted. Right as he said that Sara burst out of her room and said "Please...take me away from here my dad needs help, he is an alcoholic!" One the officers took Sara to the police car and the other one arrested her dad for trying to strike her for saying that. She was taken to a Juvenile center with other kids and soon was to be placed into a foster home.
That night Sara didn't sleep a wink. Her cot was so stiff and she felt like she was in a prison home. " I'll be out of here soon," she thought. Sara woke up around 8:00 AM the next morning, but she didn't remember falling asleep. " Sara....Sara wake up it's time for breakfast." One of the guards woke her up. Sara got up and got dressed and walked to the cafeteria. There were so many kids there, of all ages, some looked as though they didn't have a breath of life in them, it was only the bones and the brain that kept them alive. They looked like they had seen hell on earth, as Sara had.
Towards the end of her meal, A counselor, named Kerri asked Sara to go with her, she needed some information on her. Sara followed Kerri to a small office with a desk. "Now Sara, we are going to place you in a foster home for about a year, two at most. We are going to get your father the help he needs but let me warn you, he does have the possibilities of being in jail for up to 10 years." Sara was close to tears. She bit her lip hard, "Don't cry, be strong," she told herself, but it was hard. She knew that this was the best thing to do, but she didn't want to move, she didn't want be away from her father, away from the home that she knew. Yes, her father was very cruel to her, but she knew that deep down inside, that wasn't who he was. People change when bad things happen. " We are in the process of finding you a foster home as soon as possible and you will also be in counseling. Don't worry Sara, your life will get better, it seems hard now but soon you will be in a foster home with a loving family."
After Being in the Juvenile Detention center for about two weeks Kerri had finally found a home to put her in. Two weeks of pure hell for Sara, all of her clothes, and everything she owned was put in boxes, her house was for sale. unfortunately for her, she had no family and no one to look after her. Her grandmother on her fathers' side was in a rest home, so she couldn't go to her. To make things worse, both her Mom and dad were only children, so she had no relatives at all. Her mother's parents were both dead. Family was something Sara didn't have. "Maybe this family will take care of me, and love me, like my house used to be," she thought.
