THE PEOPLE THAT TIME FORGOT

RATED PG

YEAR RELEASED: 1977

CAST: Sarah Douglas, Patrick Wayne, Thorley Walters, Dana Gillespie, Shane Rimmer, and Doug McClure.

DIRECTED BY: Kevin Conner

REVIEW BY JACOB RUBINSTEIN

Before Sarah did Superman and Superman II, She had the lead role in this little movie called "The People That Time Forgot". It was a sequel to The Land That Time Forgot. In that movie, Doug McClure got stranded at the end of the movie. This movie is about a group of people who are sent on a rescue mission for Doug McClure character.

Patrick Wayne (son of John Wayne) leads the cast, with Sarah playing playing the leading lady. She is a strong will character like Princess Leia and also has the same hairstyle. It's a little different to see Sarah playing the Lois Lane type, while Dana Gillespie has the sexy role of Ajor. A wild woman that the group meets on the island. She wears cavewoman clothes and is revealing some parts of her breasts. As I started to watch this movie, I recognized Shane Rimmer. He played a controller in Houston in Superman II. He didn't have any scenes with Sarah in Superman II. His character was nice to her in this movie.

Patrick was not happy bringing a woman with them on this trip. Sarah's character was a photojournalist for her uncle's newspaper. She was sent to take pictures on this little trip. Sarah was very independent and also very funny in this movie. I really enjoyed watching it again to see Sarah in action. She is in most of the movie. This films only have a handful of people in the cast. It's not huge like Superman. I read in the Femme Fatales Magazine that Sarah really enjoyed making this movie. I think it shows. This was before she got famous as Ursa from Superman II and then was cast in Villain roles after that. Make no mistake, Sarah can do both.

I saw this movie as a kid on tv the first time. I had seen it on video years later. However this was the first time that I had seen in a least 10 years or so. MGM re-released the video in a new cover box. The cover box doesn't mention Sarah or have any pictures. She is listed in the credits on the back. For fans of Sarah, I highly recommend seeing this movie. The special effects are not bad for 1977. However it's no Jurassic Park.
