The Nineties: Weird Stuff that Happened Recently

It was an amazing decade, wasn't it?

In 1990, a government-created virus known as the Superflu, or Captain Trips, wiped out 99.4 percent of the world's population. The survivors regrouped around the saintly Mother Abagail and the demonic Randall Flagg.

Back in 1993, a group of genetically engineered supermen led revolts against nations all over the world. Eighty of them, including one named Kahn, are now missing.

Soon after, an intelligent chimpanzee led an uprising of domesticated apes against their human captors.

In 1997, Skynet became self-aware and set off the nuclear war known as "Judgement Day."

I believe it was that same year that New York City was turned into a Maximum Security Prison.

Then in 1999, a large black monolith was uncovered on the Moon.

Shortly after that, the Moon was knocked out of orbit and is now floating through the galaxy.

We still haven't heard back from the crew of the Jupiter 2, which has been lost in space for several years now.

Well, at least Big Brother was not watching us like he did back in 1984.
